Nothing is ever safe on the net. You'd still be surprised at how many folks just don't get that.
Think about it; even you've seen other folks on this site spamming other people's PM's. It doesn't happen anymore, even if it was pretty comical at some points, i doubt many people who were on the recieving end of it would have thought it so.

No IRC is not a site, a standard chat relay stand alone exe program. Ashame more people frequent tango than IRC.

Even then, if you were giving personal information through PM, wouldn't you be telling that to someone you trust?

To clarify, if someone goes sour to you online, be it an ex or just someone who doesn't care for you, they can get ahold of info quite easily. And forgive me, I tend to be as naive as someone who has just combusted being told to just walk it off.
