Thinking, planning, leading and all that are all skills. Intelligence or IQ is something you can improve over time. Other skills that are used in a turn based game? Creative thinking, learning (ie absorbing everything around you), organization, and some degree of leadership. Chess is a game of skill and intelligence, to say that a turn based game is not a game of skill is like saying chess isn't.

Again the definition of skill is so broad, a skill is the learned capacity to carry out a pre-determined result in minimum amount of time, energy or both. This encompasses thought, thinking and intelligence. Skill is not all reflexes and speed.

your IQ doesn't vary much beyond 2 years of age. Good try though.

your strategic and tactical thinking does.... a lot.

Sorry but after playing skill based games for years I can confess that being able to press buttons fast is far from being skill. But like the guys said above. Taking fast and correct decisions on a real-time action game is skill.

Besides, beating a certain boss or certain game o a hard mode isn't being a legend. Anyone can do that, just take a different amount of tries from person to person.

If you let your IQ stop you from developing your intelligence then you're not a very intelligent guy.
