Until they go on a foreign visit to German Parliament and haill Herr Hitler in the traditional hand-moustache salute way... P.S. I know someone recently put in jail for a day for doing that. Unluckily for everyone else though they dropped the charges...
Dear god Loony! I've lost respect! I thought you would be more intelligent then to have such a shallow view upon the religion I revere! I take it that you are basing your facts on modern stereotypicalism and not actual citations of our Holy Quran. We ACCEPT both Moses, savior of the Jews, and Christ the compassionate. I do not base hate on Christians for there purges during the Crusades. My employer is Jewish and I see him as a great friend and cornerstone in my life. Please I beg you LoonyLion not to make judgements through such trivial matters. Muslims aren't haters. The Quran teaches us love and compassion. I see all people as my brothers and sisters blind to whatever faith they hold.
That was the second time round, I believe he was convicted before in 1998, for denying the holocaust was it not?
can't remember offhand, but what does it matter? large numbers of MPs in the other parties have criminal convictions for the likes of paedophilia among other crimes. He's by no means the only MEP with a criminal record.
I didn't say that he was the only one did I? Funny that, for someone who's speciality is WWII, i should think that the leader of your party denying the holocaust would stick out in your mind.
In 1998, Nick Griffin was convicted of violating section 19 of the Public Order Act 1986, relating to incitement to racial hatred. He received a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and was fined £2,300.
passages in the Qu'ran advocate violence and jihad against non-believers (i.e non-Muslims). It may well be the case that these passages are no longer relevant to society today, but all too many Muslims follow them.
absolutely, i find it heart breaking that people make an overall judgement on a whole belief because of those stupid idiot terrorists that taint the whole idea of our religion. Really, these "martyrs" are worse then those who've have their vision clouded by them. I doubt that you have read any full translation in the quran. But yes if you splice scentances out of some verses you can make the quran say whatever you want. BUT they are verses for a reason. I shall make an example; I qoute: "..But if they turn away, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks." (4:89) Sounds really harsh doesn't it? But now read the whole verse: "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): so take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (from what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks. Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (Of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (guarantees of) peace, then Allah hath opened no way for you (to war against them). Others you will find that wish to gain your confidence as well as that of their people: every time they are sent back to temptation, they succumb thereto; if they withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands, seize them and slay them wherever ye get them; in their case We have provided you with a clear argument against them. (Al-Nisa' 4:89-91) Here there is incitation to struggle if people force a muslim to give up their faith It is important that we study the religious texts in their proper context. When these texts are not read in their proper textual and historical contexts they are manipulated and distorted. It is true that some Muslims manipulate these verses for their own goals. LoonyLion, please try and see that Islam does not teach unfounded intolerance.
Is anyone going to be able to make a comment straight after something about a book I doubt any of us fully invested in this post has just had a MASSIVE reply made about it? I'm just doing this to try and break the ice...
How would you guys like an American's input on this? Sorry, you're not going to get much of one. Unlike many of you, I am not driven to worry over world issues, and this is probably the only place I will ever read about anything outside of what is happening outside of my country. The problem there is that you all know what's going on, and I barely do. I somewhat know of the BNP, and find their whims and wishes of asking everyone who is not white to leave the country quite entertaining. It's always nice and fun to say that people are harsher on these types of people than the other way around, but I'm sure that BNP supporters have hit people in the face with claw hammer things a few times as well. We just need to drop this whole issue of "race" being a factor in everything. As cheesy as it sounds, we're all just god damn fucking people! We're humans. The same damn species. Same build. Same genes. Hell, we can even reproduce among different "races" . It's just too much to worry over. Even when we try to do something nice about "racism" we fuck up. Look at Uncle Tom's Cabin. As for what Loony was saying some pages ago about people having the right to take back a country that was originally their home or something like that, I suppose you won't mind when we American's pop by in a few years to dominate much of Europe as part of our new world order? We were from there originally, you know. Well not me. My parents were from Cambodia, but who the hell wants to take the time to dominate that crap hole?
