It's strange that the Telegraph didnt pick that up, do you maybe think they're biased ;)

Indeed, they're called the Torygraph for a reason

They didn't seem to pick up on the UKIP leader swindling £2 million from the EU expenses either, or the fact he's an alcoholic. But then again, labour gave them plenty to talk about back home.

are you trying to say that The Telegraph, a reputable *chuckle* newspaper, has an anti-EU agenda?

I doubt it. UKIP were being talked up to stop the BNP getting seats (the other parties were concerned about their vote share being diminished as a result of the expenses scandal, it undoubtedly contributed to labour's record loss). UKIP wasn't as well known (because they do nothing when there's no elections on), so they became the safety net for the main parties in a game of 'stop the BNP at all costs'. Therefore it was not in the interests of the media to scandalise UKIP.

MPs trying to excuse their behaviour probably did more damage than the expenses themselves in a lot of cases.

I'm just waiting to see what the BRITISHNP do in the EUROPEAN parliament. I was discussing it earlier during school with some friends. It seems like they're just going to go to The Hague and just yell obscenities at all the foreign dignitaries, which could be quite fun for Youtube or something. Just get some footage of them seeing the Spanish members and yelling "OY PEDRO! Drinks Over Here Please!" and maybe seeing some Bosnians or Polish people and shouting "GO BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY" which considering their representing them makes little sense.

We also discussed what the BNP would do to stop immigrants if they were elected, and we've narrowed it down to them either making a giant unscaleable wall or a giant unscaleable fence around the entire coast of Britain (I have no idea how...) so all the immigrants get stuck on the beaches. I imagine it could be quite an amusing sight but still pretty cruel. We had other ideas but dismissed them as "silly" or "out-of-the-question", like getting the military to guard all the coastlines but we remembered that they are NEVER going to get out of the Middle East...

The BNP would have to change many policies to get in as currently they don't have very good ones

Have you actually read them, or are you just spouting what the news organisations say?

try reading them all. I don't agree with all of them, but most of them are just what the country needs (withdrawal from foreign wars that are nothing to do with us, cutting bureaucracy in the NHS, withrawal from the EU as a political organisation, restarting of our manufacturing industries, nationalising the utility companies, fixing the screwed up rail network, abolishing the welfare state (i.e benefits only to those who have earned them/have a genuine need for them), Police back on the beat etc)

You guys do realise that less people voted for the BMP(in the two places they got seats) this time in the Euro election than did last time. The only reason they got two seats this time is because of the collapse of the Labour vote and the proportional representation system. UKIP were the real winners.

I would have said it was the conservatives that benefited the most from the labour collapse (though they were still hurt from their own part in the expenses scandals). However, since the BNP now have MEPs, the political playing field in the UK has been levelled somewhat, and they will now have a platform to present their policies. This is an exceptionally important breakthrough, and is a start on the road back to democracy.
