We could embark on a long-winded debate on objectivity (or is philosophy a dirty word?) but 1) this isn't the place and 2) it's easier if you just take my word.

this is dumb. Give reasons why final fantasy 13 sucked. it was a great game except for the battle system.

So it was a great game EXCEPT for a CORE COMPONENT. If the battle system sucks, the FF game sucks. You just can't have a good game when one of the core components is completely screwed. You can say parts of it were good, but the battle system sucking in an RPG is a pretty major, game killing flaw.

Also, I really enjoyed FF VI. Incredible sound track, great game, overall, just incredible. I want an EZ Flash 3in1 just so I can play through the GBA version of this game.

the story was amazing and the battle system wasnt flawed it was just to simple. though if you could go a little deeper with the jobs.

The story was transparent. Usually in a Final Fantasy there are twists and unanswered questions. In 13 it just plods along with an uninspired story, revealing all the twists without your characters present so you have to watch them again and look at your characters being surprised. Usually the twists are hinted at and are very easy to spot coming.
The combat was terrible, there was no room for character customisation at all, the sheer frustration that could be caused if your main character died because either a)he/she was standing in the wrong place and you couldn't move them out of the way or b) the AI decided to heal someone else on slightly less health.
While the flow of the game was good, there was absolutely no challenge as you spawned right beside the battle you just lost, the game took far too long to allow you make choices and even when it did they were extremely restrictive.
The game looked nice, but I felt they had rather ruined the summons by making most of them transform into some sort of stupid car, thus ruining the style.

Basically I think FFXIII is my third least favourite Final Fantasy, behind FFIX and FF Tactics for the GBA.

No it didnt. they hardly hinted at story points. The combat was awesome because if you sucked you could make it pause while you picked your attack

It has a decent battle system, exploration, and this thing called gameplay

FFXII remains the only Final Fantasy I haven't played.

Well I wasn't surprised once while playing it, and the game was too easy not too hard.

FF 12 is the worst game to ever call its self a Final Fantasy game. I wish I could find this awesome review I found that pointed out the flaws far better than I ever could.

To start:

The game play is DULL. The fighting is boring and more tedious than random battles. You can have the battles fight themselves (I'll yell at the stupid gambit system in a minute). To make it a bit worse; the story was bland (a group of unlikely people takes down the evil empire, wow, never seen that before), the towns may have actually been too big, and the environments were very bland. Most areas of a map looked just like each other with very minor changes.

The gambit system has to be the worst. Set them up right for everybody, and you could go make a sandwich while the boss fight was going on. Gambits takes no skill to properly set up, and are pretty much a game breaker.

The license system is garbage. If they were going to go a route like that, a class system would have been far more appropriate than the mockery they created. From the beginning everybody starts with the weapons that they will overall be most effective with. The license board is unnecessary and just calls for even more tedious grinding. I mean, grinding is already kind of tedious, but FF 12 somehow took it to a new level.

Oh yeah, and Penelo was incredibly annoying. All I could think is; "I should throw her off the top of an airship at some point".

That is a very simple explanation to the suck known as FF 12. I can go more in depth about it if you want me to.

Your an idiot. the gambit system didnt cover everything you could do. and most of the time i would control one character without gambits. And the fighting system was not perfect but it was better than most. And if its so bland about them taking out an evil empire then star wars sucked ass. how do u like that?

I laugh at you for acting like an ignorant six year old.

Star Wars is nothing special, they just did a great job advancing and developing the story. Also, Star Wars is kind of on the old side now, FF XII is a few years old. You would think they could have developed a new story by now. Your concept of a good story is skewed and backwards to say the least.

Gambits were actually pretty expansive once you got enough of them. You could easily set up a solid system of gambits for a lot of the easier boss fights as long as you had even an ounce of foresight.

yes and 13 is the worst for it.
anybody that grew up loving final fantasy loved it the way it was, now its changed its not 'final fantasy' anymore. Its a new kind of game thats all story no gameplay or fun.

It isn't just the gambits, that's just what the person who posted after me focused on besides the stupid comment on the story. Final Fantasy stories were never really strong, in fact, I can think of few that didn't have an unlikely group of heroes (sometimes "chosen" heroes, sometimes now) taking down an evil empire of some sort. Final Fantasy VII, even though it is not the best FF (close though), did a great job at altering the story into something flat out weird and awesome.

Also, since you appear to have completely skipped my post explaining why the game is garbage, here you go. Pay attention to the first few words about the game play. Those seem to relate my core feelings about the game play as a whole.

I dont care what you think about the game, the point was you said 12 had all of 13's problems and it doesn't.
since you appear to have completely skipped my post explaining why here it is again.

if you want me to go into more depth about the battle system i will, but its head and shoulders above 13.
and same with the gameplay
