I'm hoping for a FFVII remake. I never got to try it, and I've heard so much about it I need to experience it eventually. As of now, FF VI reigns king.

There's a PC version of FF7, or since that's hard to get working, you can just get a PSX emulator and download the ROM.

Whats the point in saying? Its just opinion.
I COULD tell you that the story is the best.
The materia system is the best.
Cloud is the best character.
Sephiroth is the best villain.
The secret characters are the best.
The summons are the best.
The locations are the best.
But nobody will agree so its pointless.

It is all just opinion, but calling it pointless because of this fact makes me wonder why you're even participating in a debates thread. Debates, especially ones such as this, are most, if not all nothing but opinion. There is no factual evidence as to why we consider each game to be the best, we can only submit easily refutable points in the hope that people agree.

The story is the only notable thing present in this game to me. I don't particularly like how it just sort of goes all over the place and doesn't even try to make sense until the tail end, but it is original at least and was astounding for its time.

It adds a new tedium to already having to purchase and find magic. I'm really not a fan. Of course, I don't like the draw system of 8 much, and find how long you have to use certain pieces of equip in FF9 to be pretty insane. I'm just a sucker for a level up or buy magic system. Level up is my preferred version for acquiring magics and abilities though.

Cloud is an emo mash up of fail. He is by far one of the worst characters in FF history. As a main protagonist, he fails very miserably. 90% of the story just has him going "wtf?!" and then "I'M FUCKING WORTHLESS." Kind of fail.

Sephiroth is completely bad ass. I will agree with this. He was one of the first truly developed villains that had a legitimate (if not very messed up) reason for everything that he did.

Vincent is the only good one. Yuffie sucks a lot. In the end, Vincent's back story and character were superior to Cloud's really. I don't remember the secret characters in other games though to argue that point further. FF doesn't really have many secret characters anyways really from all of my playing experience. 90% of the time it's secret summons and such only.

They're okay. Most are so long that I stopped liking them after the first few summons. Knights of the Round was the worst offender. Talk about an overly long animation sequence. I really like the summons in 8 (where they also played a much more vital role).

You and I are both aware that's total bs. The locations are as good as any other FF. Based on locations alone, the newer FF's easily beat any of the older FF games. Even if pointlessly large, the locations are undoubtedly better the further along you go (this is coming from somebody who hates every FF from X-2 and beyond).

You really don't understand what a debate is. It's fairly obvious from your past few posts.

My personal favorite is XIII 2nd is VIII i really got into the story of those two
favorite based solely on game play is IX. couldn't really get into the story though.
