    Re: THE BEST FINAL FANTASY

I haven't played FFVI until just recently and I recommend every single person that has posted in this thread to play this game at least once.

The story starts out really slow and I stopped playing it because I was stuck at a certain point in the very beginning, but after I figured it out, the game is just AMAZING. All you FFVII fanboys definitely need to play this one, because the only reason you guys LOVE FFVII is because of the lack of FFVI.

I'm not even halfway through the game yet, but I'm on the fence between FFIV and FFVI being the best final fantasies to date.

My favorite feature of FFVI so far is the fact that the story breaks up into three separate parties at a certain point in the game. No other game other than FFXIII has tried to do this. FFVIII came close where it splits the party into two, but the two events that happen are always in the same order. FFVI breaks up into three stories, and let's you CHOOSE which one to do first. Not only that, but you pick up a ton of party members in the groups that are not full yet.

FFIV's DS remake was pretty good, but if they only had to pick one game to remake on the DS, I'd choose FFVI.

It gets even better later on. Finish it. You're really missing out.

I still think about Locke's sprite in my sleep.

For the sake of it, I say some of the spinoffs were nice as well.

Tactics was just phenomenal. Even the GBA version was good.

What happened to A2: Grinmore of the rift?

It wasn't good. In fact that's why I switched over to disegea.

I thought FFT A2 was better then the first one. I know the item availablity is annoying, but overall it was improved.

    I agree Disgaea is amazing.

For me, it's FFV and FFIV. FFV was my first FF game, and FFIV is the one I'm playing right now.

You're right. I'm at a certain point in the game, well let's just say I'm about an hour or so after you beat Atma Weapon. I can't say where I'm at specifically since that entire event following Atma Weapon is a major spoiler.

This game is chocked full of secrets and had I not read a strategy guide, I wouldn't have been able to get Edgar's Chainsaw Tool, obtain Mog, or be able to save Shadow. In fact, I usually only get out the strategy guide if I'm stuck in a spot, but after reading that I totally missed the boat on saving Shadow, I just had to purposely die and redo that entire section.

I don't think there's too many sidequests in this game because I didn't see a big section concerning side quests, and if there was, I'm already at the point where it's impossible to go back and do them. I remember FFVIII had a point in the game where if you went onto Disc 4, you would not be able to revisit many places that you found on Disc 3. FFVI does the same thing.

I love FFVI's graphics. I was designing my own RPG using RPG Maker 2003, and I really want to use all of the chipsets in this game because they look so cool.

No way. The only hard thing is the two optional boss at the dungeon you go to after you beat the game.

i have a tie, Final Fantasy IV going down to hell was awesome, and Final Fantasy VIII i never felt so connected to every character than in this one. And i am tired of them calling the mmorpgs that they come out with final fantasy call the final fantasy mmorpg or something tactics was called tactics, square is going to crap, i want a return to classic style FF not crap like is 12 and 13

I can't tell exactly, but were you insulting the FF Tactics series? It's really good.
