This Korean issue is all hot air at this point. When will it start? Did it start? Was that attack on that island an ultimatum or a declaration of war? What are the UN resolutions as of this point?

The only thing that separates the Koreas are the foreign influence. Remove those 2, China and America and i bet that they will be united in no time.
The UN must make a resolution that orders both China and America to butt out of the Koreas and give those 2 nations some sanctions if they violate the said resolution.
If the UN can't make such resolution, then i believe its just the same as the League of Nations. Worthless and should be disbanded.

Technically the Korean war never ended. they just stopped shooting each other (most of the time)

North Korea's one of those countries that steps on the line, but not over it. No matter how many sanctions the UN slaps on, with countries like Iran and Uzbekistan as Allies, and China doing anything to keep it's little "buffer zone" against the US (by letting Black Market trade happen through the Northern part into Mongolia), Kim the Ill is just going to get away scott-free. The US signed the Geneva Convention which cut the Military's dick off for getting information and Isolationism never works.

the best we can do is watch or do some covert ops/terrorism against North Korea
by passing through China into NK and then wreaking some havoc by planting cells

This mindset is exactly why anti-American sentiment exists.

Kim ain't a freely elected leader, he's a dictator. North Korea has terrible human rights records. International law is unenforceable and people would have to care if America was destroyed as it is a focal point of the global economy rather than an isolationist country like North Korea.

Which is why it is very difficult to consolidate people into changing their own traditional set of values. It depends on the country's own philosophy if their beliefs were included into the picture. Right now the U.S. is backing down from Afghanistan, because it is exactly a waste of effort and not to mention we are experiencing downtime from a global economic crisis so-to-speak.

The other nations as well are having downtime and all are included into the picture, but in order to get out of this mess the world has to cooperate, not necessarily obey direct demands, but think of what is the issue at hand besides trying to demolish others.

I kind of hate it when the North Koreans couldn't have picked a better time to make matters worse. Since every country is left with empty pockets and all out of resources they come in trying to mess up our recovery.

That is why if any country gets screwed we are all SCREWED, ARRRGH!

why must they kill themselves?Gosh, they seems like have amnesia(i mean the Norths). They forgot all the sufferings during war....why can't they just talk nicely? with the economy now what's up in their brains....

It's not really a question of what's wrong with them; their leader is dearranged and has the entire population believing he is virtually a god. That said, Kim is not stupid. He knows that starting a war will mean the end of the DPRK and his family dynasty. outside of that I think he's just an attention seeker.

He is a God to those poor people. I saw a show once where north koreans actually pray to a picture of Kim Il Sung. One lady said praying to him cured her of blindness! Kim Jong Il has perfected the cult of personality that Stalin started.

I was talking about kim jong-il being virtually a god. Kim il-sung is jong-il's father. jong-il made his father a god. il-sung is still president of the DPRK despite having been dead for over 20 years.

    When will this shit start?
I'm already stocking up on supplies to sell to the desperate side in that stupid war.

I think Israel is much more serious when it comes to announcing wars. They should send those Israeli specialist to the Koreas. They will teach them how to do war and stuff.

Nope its still the first war. there wasn't a peace treaty so technically the korean war never ended, they just stopped shooting at each other.

it seems north korea is now trying to defuse the situation they created.
