vaguely said it first...but was being sorta'of a pedo about it... on-topic: were's the birthday girl? were's the party?
When my dad joined the Navy, he had a friend who lived in South Carolina. At the time, the age of consent in SC was 14 years old. His friend was 25 years old and had a 15 year old girlfriend in Columbia, SC. When they were on leave from the Naval base in Charleston, my dad's friend would go to Columbia and stay with his girlfriend and her parents. Her parents allowed the relationship. I believe now the AoC in SC is 16, and in the US, it varies between 16 and 18, with about 50% of the states being 18, and the other half being either 17 or 16. Bill Clinton passed a law making it illegal to travel across states/countries to circumvent Age of Consent laws. Essentially making the Age of Consent of where your residence is, the age of consent for you no matter where you are. (For Americans, of course). Other countries have varying age of consent laws, but most modern societies have it at 15+. Regardless of the age of consent of the State you live in, USCode Title 18, Part I, Chapter 110 still applies. 18+ only.
Wait, if your partner is 16-17 and you're over 18, can you still do dirty things to her, or would you have to wait till she's 18? Also: Happy birthday.
Age of consent means the age that a person can legally consent to sexual intercourse. But, the 18+ rule still applies for images/videos of nudity and such things of a sexual nature. A person above the AoC can consent to having sex, but you cannot produce pornography with them. You need to find your local rules. Some states with AoC of 18 still have what they term "Romeo and Juliet" rules. Where when people who are on either side of the AoC, yet still relatively close in age, are allowed to consent to sexual intercourse. Others have ages of consent, but also ages of consent with parental consent. Those ones are dangerous. Because then a parent who decides after the fact that they don't like you can hit you with statutory rape. My mother and father were together at 16 and 19, and married at 17 and 20. My grandfather hated my father, but luckily my grandmother didn't mind. And remember, it's age of CONSENT. Regardless of what age a person is, consent is still required.
