To just laugh at people who can't play it on their flashcart for a day or two most likely...

    Every company is now.

Well, Nintendo winning to a certain extent isn't a bad thing... we want them to keep making sweet games, right? :)

The status quo is pretty good right now, actually... those of us who are willing to wait get our cracked rom, and enough impatient people go out and buy it that the dev (hopefully) makes a decent profit. Win-win ;-)

So eventually someone will crack it.
which means we'll still win :)

No. The person who made the crack will win.

Except in their eyes it's a loss because they want everyone that likes the game to buy the game. A true win for them would be for us to also buy the game after we try it. Then they get max profits. I've bought games after testing many times that, but if Super Scribblenauts is too much like the first one (which I bought twice, one for my sister) then I wouldn't buy it.

But we'll (maybe) get it as well, if he/she's generous enough to post it in public

actually while we wait can anyone explain why sometimes the site offers a numbered version of the rom and then there's the rom that just has xxxx as the number?

    I learned this today ;D
The XXX version is the unofficial one that is largely not used by people that fix the roms. The numbered ones are "scene" roms that the crackers work on. It's better to download a numbered rom.
