Suggestion: Pokemon Subforum

Karma systems are abused, even on craigslist with flagging. That shit is so unregulated I can't sell anything because my sales are flagged in less than 10 minutes.

If there is a system like that, it needs to have specific reasons as to why they get negative scores. Otherwise, it will just be abused.

The Report button is a nice alternative though.

 

They had this once, but it was never used and it really only counts when a higher authority on the forum gives you karma, but you can't tell who gave it to you unless it was enabled.

But on topic, I think that a Pokemon forum would be a waste of space to be honest.

Just make Pokemon threads in Nintendo.

 

Except not all of the threads belong there. We have them in almost all categories, from Romulation Online, Wii, NDS, Technical Help, Game Help, etc.

Even now when a new photo releases around 3 threads are made.
It does get annoying.
Maybe a Pokemon Subforum would be alright.

 

Even if a subforum exists, repeat topics are discouraged. So the repeats should be locked/deleted. So in the end you'll have a forum with only a few topics.

 

I think the purpose of a subforum is two-fold. One, is an attempt to minimize the number of duplicate topics, and two, to limit the ridiculous amount of Pokemon topics floating around all over the forum. To put them all in one section would be easier to handle than to deal with them in just about any part of the discussion board.

It's been argued that it would inhibit the function of the search function, but judging by any typical Pokemon post, this person did NOT use the search function to begin with.

I'd rather have 90% order around the rest of the forum and have 10% chaos in its own little section than to have that same 10% chaos spread across the whole forum.

Gaming Lounge/Nintendo? Pokemon.
General Discussion? Pokemon.
Trading Station? Pokemon.
Romline Gamers? Pokemon.
Emulation Help? Some Pokemon.
Anti-Piracy? Mostly Pokemon.
90% of them are either duplicate posts/something that was already posted before, posted in the wrong section anyway, or other idiotic "I did not use the search function before posting" reasons.

 

Dammit. I thought it was the search function.

 

In that case, add a Final Fantasy child forum, and a child forum for every series of video games ever created. That would be AWESOME.
