yeah.. well, no problem there. it might just be dusty inside. i suggest you dust it by yourself, but if you cant do it, you can have it done at the store. you said its still under warranty right? i think its still free for a quick check up.

..Pardon me, but when I was reading about GC dusting (dust hurts them too) I think one suggestion was a feather duster?

Sorry if I'm wrong-of course you have to take it apart...

If it were up to my dad-he'd get me a mosist shammy and go...

(sheep skin rag-it never hurt the car or stereo-and as long as no wires or circuit boards are wet, and given time to dry, may help....OH AND a paint brush does wonders for Game boys-so prehaps those could help...any professional opinions?)

i mostly use a very soft brush bought from cdrking store here. well, back then, i just blow it clean using a blower ( not hot, just air ) then i wipe it with a very-soft paint brush. its like hair-soft.

advise, never use anything that is hard. and always make sure the battery is out and the ac not plugged to avoid electric shock.

And the vent in the case, make sure its very clean. cause thats were the hot air goes, if its clogged, then that may cause hot air circulating inside.

Edit: if you ask somebody else, remember to remind them about the screws! i had mine fixed and i think 2-3 screws where missing. good thing the case still holds.

Okay, thanks for the suggestions mds and damanail :)
Also doe's anyone know of a place in W.A, Albany that sells cooling pads? (I'm going to start using one in the future).

when you are using it is it plugged into a wall outlet at all times? if it is it could be that your battery is dead/dieing. if you remove your battery and keep it plugged into the wall see if that stops it from shutting down. if it stops it means your battery is dieing.

have you tried monitoring the cpu temp with a program like speedfan? if not you should try it, if the temp gets above 90c then its overheating(i thank). you should by a cooling pad

laptops generally don't have temp sensors.

    never use brushes, ever
use compressed air canisters designed for electronics.
open it up and air blast it out, dusting with a feather tool or brush may cause scratches if used inside and/or moving dust around.
periodically let your computer sleep (it cuts down power consumption and is faster than turning it back on)

My laptop is fine now, I bought a cooling pad, worth the $50 bucks I reckon. I think it might of been the temperature in the lounge room or something that was making it overheat, I noticed after a while that it overheated more when the fire was on.
