Stop that! Did you even read their full posts?

    on topic:
I'd go with Star wars( I love the battles, colorful :p ) because I haven't watched the Star Treks (I don't even know its story)...Maybe I'll try and buy a video collection...and see if it is that good as everyone says...

I'm definitely a Trekkie. Not to say that Star Wars isn't good, but it is after all only a few films, whereas Star Trek has a plethora of media related to the Trekkie universe, and for the most part, all of that stuff is pretty good (imo anyway ^^).

I'm suprised to hear people not loving DS9 here, I thought it was easily the best. One big reason being how gritty and realistic (by Star Trek terms anyway) it was. Miles O'Brian for example became a fantastic character in DS9 and you witnessed real character development with him, unlike characters in prior series who were all squeeky clean and back to normal by the end of the episode. An example of this grittiness is the episode where Sisko thinks his assasination of a Romulan senator through secretive sabotage was justified to bring the Romulans into the Dominion War, never has anything like that been condoned in Star Trek before and it's just far more intense and exciting. On the topic of the Dominion War, that was another great part of DS9. Seeing the Federation at war was great, seeing the effect it had on the characters and the great battle scenes. The final battle when you see the Federation, Klingons, Romulans and other species all joining together to fight the dominion in one fleet gave me fucking shivers.

The rest of them were pretty good, Voyager and TNG I enjoyed watching and they had pretty good plots. As for Enterprise, it started off horribly. But series 3 and 4 really saved face for it, too bad it got decommisioned just when it got good.

this is like asking a parent to pick a favorite child...

    Star Wars:
Empire... seriously... you cant beat that film.
That movie alone makes up for any pre "hope" films.
If i could relive seeing a movie again for the first time... that would be it.

    and
    Star Trek?
    Spock dude... Spock... COME ON!
and anyone that has watched Shatner schmooze his way around the flight deck would have had to of had at least one "that would be so rad" moments. The brother gets busy with green chicks from outer space... seriously...

I really have to back out of this debate i must say... its a tie...

    fighter ;)

and just put Harry Potter up against Twilight...

...put it where it belongs ;)

*Smacks Head* Star Trek is Dif. That doesn't Make It Bad. From my understanding. If something Is Loved My Milions, then It's Good. Just Because Because I don't Like N*Sync doesn't Meant They're Bad, and Just Because I Like Star Trek, doesn't mean it's Good. The Majority Of The Likers or DisLikers is what Makes something good or bad....I guess

star trek has time travel, and phasers are ranged weapons that can vapourise just about anything, unlike lightsabers.

i've never seen a star wars until a few months ago. i saw the 1st and 3rd one. and the only star trek i've seen is the new star trek movie. based on the little i've seen star trek wins. James earl jones does kick ass as vader, but star trek is better.

I like them both, the new star trek film is one of my favourite films.
but star wars wins easily. Its the ultimate story!
you get to see anakin as a kid and grow up, fall in love(see even a bit for the girls to enjoy) and turn evil and destroy everything. then his children eventually save him and the galaxy.
    plus theres lightsabers!
just look at all the cartoons, books, and the expanded star wars galaxy that has come about, there is something there for everyone.
i recommend the 9 legacy of the force books and darth maul shadow hunter.
