    yep

anime's during that time were the big eyes exaggerated features etc style thanks to betty boop cartoons shown in japan post ww2, anime now has made their characters more realistic but the style is still distinct from western art

Voltes V & the rest of the classic Mecha series were not created during the 80's, they were created & first aired in 1974, Astroboy was Airing in 70's as well.

Macross was on the 80's along with Aura Battler & Laserion

Dragonball was Aired in 86, but was first Aired in the Philippines in 1992

    P.S.

You guys have gone off topic, we don't want this thread locked now do we?

Captain Tsubasa rules. Don't have to ask me why, just look at my avatar.

I reckon anime from Japan is more authentic than western anime. I don't really know much about old anime apart from Astro Boy.

Anime is a term referring to Cartoons that come from Japan, so there are no American Anime, but there are Anime inspired (rip off, knock offs) American cartoons. :)

but nothing less, it is still good.

Totally Spies, Martian Mystery, Team Galaxy, Avatar and W.I.T.C.H just some of them....

Martian Mystery and Team Galaxy look like anime the most.

Okiku Furikabutte, that's a good baseball manga/anime. Slam Dunk for sure, I remember obsessing about that.
Recently I just finished Touch and Rough, they were Awesome (although Touch deals more with sports and Rough more with love), Adachi is a great mangaka, I got hooked on to baseball because of Touch. Altough a little out of the way, Crimeson Hero is also good, it's about volleybal. Even though it's under shoujo I thought it's a well balanced manga.
