So which sucker is going to spend their time bringing me up to date on 3DS emulation then? I've been out of the game some time now, I haven't emulated for a couple of years except for PS2 games.

I heard you can emulate WiiU games too?

Use Citra, the most stable 3DS emulator, to run decrypted 3DS games. Prectorian uploads several such game copies.
As for Wii U, use Cemu or Decaf. I would recommend Cemu; it's currently most stable.

Decrypted? Is it not so simple as back in the old days?

No. Nintendo does not appreciate the free distribution of their games. Consequently, they decrypt all of their new games (including 3DS, Wii U, and Switch). You will also note that RomUlation no longer hosts several Nintendo games on their server.

Nintendo have always been cunts. Churn out last decades tech and sell it at top dollar, the fans will buy it anyway.

Quinoa for lunch, yuck! I'm fighting 24th November though so need to get down a few more pounds.

I wish there was an easier way that involved eating nice stuff such as pizza.

Right, I'm leaving work early tomorrow so have some spare time. What RPG games does the 3DS have that I can emulate?

Well, if you like dungeon crawlers Etrian Mystery Dungeon might be one to check out.

Most of the RPG games are currently unplayable if you seek to emulate then on your PC. I would recommend The Legend of Zelda series or Rune Factory 4 since they are considered among the only RPG games which run at full speed on Citra. For more information of the playability of 3DS games on PC, visit Citra's Compatibility List.

I have a strong PC, doesn't that help with speed? Or is the emulator not fully sorted yet?

My Seventh Generation i7 overclocked to 5.0 GHz cannot run most of the games. The emulator is simply not stable yet. Therefore, most games will either not load or lag despite Citra having a JIT Recompiler. However, the games listed as "Perfect", "Great", or even "Okay" should be able to run easily on your strong PC if it has a fast CPU.

By the way, you do not need a high-end graphics card to emulate 3DS games. As long as your graphics card supports OpenGL 4.0+, you should be fine even with 1 GB graphics memory.

Maybe not full speed on them all then, I have an i5-6600k overclocked to 4.2 Ghz, 16GB DDR4-2400 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2 GB, with open OpenGL 4.4.

I can emulate any PS2 game full speed, which is what I've been doing since I left here. I do love me some PS2, maybe more than I love beer.

I just play them on the PS3.

But I have half a million games, that's a bit expensive to buy on PS3.

I wonder how many games I'll have now I'm back in the game, I have most of NDS and Wii to get.... plus quite a lot of PS2 era. I only have the best games from 2000 onwards because of the large sizes involved with downloading, now technology has advanced I can have them all within weeks.
