... Exactly. It is not an entity defined by one idolized song. It has been diverse since it's induction and elements that Skrillex utilizes can be observed since the very beginning of dubstep. He's barely straying from the genre at all. Thus, dubstep.

Okay so what I gather here is:

- Athemoe starts with dubstep via really accessible mediums, I daresay he even used to listen to Skrillex
- Starts looking online for more, finds less well-known stuff
- Develops hard-on for "listening to original dubstep" and not people's own takes on the genre
- As such decides to publicly hate on Skrillex and the like
- Justifies it by saying they're not really dubstep
- Gets told by older, wiser people who actually enjoy music as something other than a tool to stroke one's ego and/or e-penis
- Tries to argue his irrational stance

protip: don't tie yourself to a genre proper, you start doing shit like this to justify dislike of certain artists and it makes you look like a fag

linkin park is NOT metal, they are alternative rock,(first of all a metal + rap = NOT metal) know the difference...but ya they are one of my top five favorite bands!

i like sympathic metals bands myself, like evanescence, nightwish, within temptation (<also one of my top five).

its hard to know what KIND of metal a band is, because there are so many, the only metal METAL band there is, is probably Metalica, others are either heavy metal, death metal, trash metal, etc.

 

Linkin Park did some metal stuff iirc.
And Evanescence isn't remotely metal.
Also I believe symphonic metal is the name you're looking for, not "sympathic".
