it was a 'promo'(promotion, kinda) film, which most 3d movies are :( ; basically a promo film is a movie that hey do because of money, most people think that if its 3D people will automatically like it, even if it had a shitty movie (plot wise), like saw 3d, or shark night 3d (i almost threw up watching that...so bad). basicalyy its doing a movie, simply cause you can, not because you think its a good idea, not because, its your passion, simply because you are able to do it, and make money off it.

There's nothing wrong with a healthy love of money!

It's only when the creators just don't care.

Ooh my OF knowledge is apparently lacking. About the shock value, I guess I meant to say Tyler. I don't think he's a good rapper at all but I don't really have anything against anyone else. How many times can he regurgitate lines like "Flowing like *nasty half-ass metaphor*" and "____ with no lube"?

I like Earl though, he's a master of sensical assonance. Too bad Tyler borderline ruined his debut LP.

"I'm a fucking walking paradox, and a really shitty rapper in my favorite pair of socks."

I loved the gimmick, but it grew old quickly. Now my hip hop stuff centers around other indie rap labels like Funk Volume and Strange Music.

    Loiter Squad is gold, though.

i miss the days when hipster was a term of jealousy aimed towards people of superior cultural knowledge, now it's just a general insult for anybody you dont agree with

Yeah I haven't seen the newest episodes but I was actually surprised at how funny it can be at times.

I don't know much about dubstep but why wouldn't Skrillex be considered dubstep? Just cause he doesn't directly emulate the sound that developed in Western Europe? Look at Ska: the third wave sounds nothing like the first wave from decades ago, but it's still ska. I don't believe dubstep, by definition, has to be slow, dark sounding two-step. Genres just develop and shit and Skrillex did so by focusing instead on traditional pop structures rather than house/club structures, and capitalizing on abrasive textures where the low frequencies are usually accomodated by, uh, screeching to fill the frequency spectrum. It makes sense that he appealed to mainstream but the rhythm is still derived from LFO filter sweeps which makes dubstep sound like dubstep to me.

If you don't call him dubstep I would call him nu-dubstep or dubstep fusion, but afaik those genres don't exist. But it still sounds like dubstep to me. Especially if you consider other "accessible derivatives" like Nero, KOAN Sound, etc. to be dubstep too.

Disclaimer: I don't like Skrillex and I also have no idea what I'm talking about.

Dubstep wasn't meant to have a huge drop and an over the top bass line.

Oh really? You mean like Coki has been doing since like 2004?

Why indulge in something that so strongly discourages divergence from the status quo anyway? Bleh, fuck dubstep and stuff.

    Coki is Coki.
    Rusko is Rusko.

    Dubstep evolved over time.

    Yeah, to each his own.
