It's not bad unless you watch it for the gore.
The story is pretty good. But yeah, there are too many of them and the last one sucked monkeyballs.

    YES!
    YES IT IS!
Saw 1 was awesome, Saw 2 was even better, then it went downhill and Saw 5 was the last good one.

Because the whole story wasn't told yet.
And they made a lot of money out of it.

Yeah, I just told you to watch all the movies to understand the story.
The only thing that's relative to the story is the ending of Saw 7.
"After escaping the updated reverse bear trap, Hoffman leaves, taking medical supplies, and returns to his hideout where he stitches his cheek and bandages his hand. Jill meets with Gibson, an internal affairs detective at Hoffman's precinct, and tells him that Hoffman has been involved as an accomplice in nearly every Jigsaw murder. The police attempt to raid the area where Hoffman is, but he hides himself in a body bag and is rolled into the coroner's office. After escaping from there, he goes on a killing spree at the police station. He then finds Jill and puts her in the reverse bear trap, killing her. Hoffman destroys the hideout and prepares to flee the city, but is attacked by three people wearing pig masks. One of the men is revealed to be Dr. Gordon, who survived his amputation. Gordon takes Hoffman into the bathroom from the first film, chains him by the ankle to the pipes, and throws away the hacksaw he used to cut off his own foot. He then shuts off the lights and leaves, closing the door and leaving Hoffman to die." (Wikipedia)

The Dr Gordon part was crucial, the leading thread running throughout the franchise

    The intro was utter shit.
They just added it for the gore, not for the story.
    Sucks man.

Also, check out this short movie called "Saw".
They made it even before they decided to make the first movie.

    Saw VI.
    That movie was rather psychological.

    Haha I love it.

Anyway I hate Saw. It's the OFWGKTA of movies: popular off of shock value. The story really isn't that great either and if you have to endure the gore for what little character depth and story is provided you might as well just be reading a good book or something that doesn't constantly remind you of how low humankind is capable of sinking towards each other.

To each his own though, I hate seeing violence in general so I have an automatic bias against that sort of thing.
