Mac OS X is Unix, which basically is the same as Linux with few exceptions.
I like them because they actually create good stuff that doesn't break after you use it for a day, unlike the other all-in-ones.
And no it's not overpriced. Try to get the same hardware a lot cheaper, you won't (including screen, mouse, keyboard, IR sensor, and anything I may have forgotten).

I couldn't care less about anyone hating my computer. I'm happy with it and that's what matters.

In fact I've been building quite a lot of PCs lately and hardware certainly isn't cheap. I can get the same hardware in this thing for +/- 1300 euro's more or less at it's cheapest.

You can do A LOT more in Linux, Apple locks everything in their OS to make it 'user-friendly', kinda like an unrooted Android phone.

Looks like you don't have any experience with Linux/Unix. Unix and Linux ARE the same. And OS X is not the only OS build on Unix.
