I think I'm the only one in my immediate class area who does all his work in the CLI. Shell scripting can be a pain in the ass, but is pretty rewarding when you realise exactly how to structure your file to solve the problem.

Linux administration is quite literally just shit you can learn on the internet without any need for questions or what-have-you. At least general Linux use can be drilled into you with programming problems and stuff. I had pretty much no problems when I was running a VPS box with torrents etc, despite having very little prior experience.
