As a project for our Digital Media diploma we had to create a fictional website for the very real music festival Big Day Out. We'd make the website for the next year - so if we're doing the project in 2011 it would be for the 2012 Big Day Out - and we would select our own bands/artists to appear.

We also had to upload the finished product to a live server as well as keeping the completed site in our online portfolio, although by the time we put it in our portfolio the lineup was generally safe - or the event was over - and there would be no speculation on anything after the fact.

However, if you were part of the February class (with January/early February being the general date for the Auckland Big Day Out) you had to make sure that your site would stay hidden away from Search Engine bots with robots.txt and other precautions of the like.

Unfortunately, it seems somebody forgot to do that and the link to the server got out to the general public and the organizers of the events were not happy to find questions about whether The Wiggles (a children's act) were scheduled for the 2012 event and I'm assuming they sent a cease-and-desist for use of their brand.
