Anyway to get Shantae working on ANY GBC/GBA emulator? ;__;

 

I played it once on an emu, but I don't which, just give me a minute to see if I can find it.

I don't know whether Bayonetta's story should be taken seriously or not due to her many, many, many, MANY, MANY provocative, silly, sexy, goofy and downright badass moves both in cutscenes and in battle...

But it sure does make me feel good when I watch.

The story is pretty horrible. If it wasn't for how flashy the cutscenes looked and just how much fun the gameplay was, that story probably would've ruined that game for me.

As a bit of a sidenote though, fuck that ridiculously difficult secret boss. Took way too long to come up with a decent strategy for that guy.

 

Bayonetta's story was intended to be bad. Bayo, like Vanquish, is satirical of other games out there of the genre.

I kinda had the sense like.. "Really!? They actually DID/SAY that? That's so... lame!" when playing it because I was kinda expecting a story from the game.

 

Yeah, the story isn't meant to be taken seriously. Like I said, satire. I don't know much about other games from the same genre as Bayo, but Vanquish (Which is made by the exact same people), I can point out a few elements from other sci-fi shooters its satirical about: The bad guys are Russian, they have a super weapon, it takes place on a uniquely shaped artificial space colony, you play as the grizzled american super soldier with the sexy female adviser, etc.

 

Yeah, definitely couldn't take the story in Bayonetta seriously. Everything else was hardcore serious business though.

 

It was a fun enough game though, I normally don't care much for games from that genre.
