Ha ha I'm so bad at Baldur's Gate. I need to get a nerdbro and swot up on my D&D rules

 

Hit wizards/clerics first, make sure your THAC0 is as low as possible using magical weapons, cursed items are bad, the lower your AC is the better. Don't dual-class if you can help it, DEFINITELY don't multiclass. Sorcerers need high CHA, as do Bards. Bards are awesome. MAGIC MISSILE ALL DAY ERRYDAY

 

thanks for that. my dude is an Elf ranger, and as far as I can remember I maxed out (as far as I could) his Strength, Constitution and Dexterity. Is that good?

Also, which "natural enemy" is the best choice when making a ranger?

 

You don't need to max out STR if you're playing Ranger, iirc you get your DEX as a bonus if you go into close combat (which you should never do). Don't quote me on that though, that might be a feat from a later edition instead. Likewise your CON doesn't need to be that great, but boosting it is always a good idea since you're playing a forest pansy who gets -2 CON at character generation. Maxing out your DEX is mandatory though, that gives you bonuses to your ranged attacks and AC. Maybe drop some STR and pump your WIS a bit more for better saving throws?

I'd also give him Natural Enemy: Humans, since a lot of your combat will be against mooks. Vampires would be another one but you don't really run into them very much. Is this BG1 or BG2?
