Ahhh the FCC. Only pharmaceuticals are on a higher shit list than they are in my book.

See George Carlin's take on the FCC. Good stuff to listen to.

I honestly hate what the United States is trying to do to the internet. At the moment, it is all being done under the guise that it will somehow fix the economy.

"If we stop piracy, the economy will fix itself!"
"If we limit internet usage, people will inevitably have to buy things instead of downloading them! Economy = fixed!!!"

These are just poor excuses to try to reinforce a corrupt form of thinking that will inevitably lead to the end of the FCC through many holes that will get them screwed at the Supreme Court. None of these actions are being thought through, and the US is trying too hard to act like they own the internet. As a member of this country, I can not say I would be proud to take one of the best things technology has been able to yield, and then pull it back ten years to further line the pockets of those who already have too much money.

I really don't like this country much anymore.

I would not say the internet is the best thing technology has yielded us.

By far. In fact it will be the death of America and of modern man. At least what men used to be, not this metrosexual bullshit.

@Drake- Thanks for what you said. I now have a kicka$$ debate topic. Many thanks my friend.

The blessings it has given, I think, far outweighs it's bad points.
    It essentially gives information instantly.
Also, it's a means of personal escape for some, and entertainment for others.

Regardless of what it has done, the internet is undeniably one of the greatest and most influential thing technology has yielded. The internet has created a place where people can come together to share information, get to know people who may live on the other side of the world, a place for people to be entertained, a place for people to entertain each other. The internet contains all the information most people will ever need to know, with more info than anybody will ever be able to contain.

The downsides are there, don't get me wrong, but there are downsides in any great thing. Nothing is perfect, but it can damn well try to get most of the way there.

I honestly did not think it was true as I heard this just today and you mistaken it as something else.

I hope to fucking God Canada doesn't implement either of these ideas.

I used to go to parties to get numbers folks. I didn't sit behind the cover of four walls and make a false identity for myself, only to go to some dating site, get hitched to some chick I've never met.
The internet is grand for information, but there is no filter to what kind of information that is.

If you give a monkey a noose, sure it might lasso some food in, hell it may even jump rope with it.
But at some point, it will get smart enough to know you really wanted it dead, and hang itself.
That is what you wanted, isn't it?
After all, behind the guise of the internets, you can type one thing and mean nothing at all.

    if it's 30% good, it's still 70% garbage.
    Henti vs the real thing?
    Wait... What.?
    Is that even logic?
You'd pick a fucking cartoon over a real woman?
It's an example folks. And there's many more. Still the internet is not an invention, not in my eyes anyways.

Just think about it. If anything the net has weakend us over the past few years.
I just wish people knew what I meant, perhaps they'd share my sediments.
