My cat cleans himself well enough. I especially liked how he just knew to use the litter box right off the bat when he couldn't have been more than a few weeks old at the time I got him.

He was such a cute little bastard...

I enjoy caring for my dog. He's also the only pet we were able to take with us when we moved (we had to get rid of about three cats).

Cleaning him is relatively easy except that he is kind of big, doesn't like initially getting into the tub, and makes a bit of a watery mess getting out of the tub. The actual cleaning process goes very well.

Otherwise I just give him food and water every once in awhile (it's a shared responsibility), and take him out to go to the bathroom one or two times a day (also a shared responsibility). In the end, it's very very worth it.

There's a lot of past tense in there which makes me think he may not be alive anymore.

 

He's still alive surprisingly enough. My mother hasn't managed to kill him yet at least.

Certainly took after me when it came to being an asshole.

His name is Cheech FYI, but he also responds to pretty much any swear word you can think of since that's about all he hears most of the time.

The "was" was meant to focus on the fact that he isn't a kitten anymore.

 

Sarah, can you stop copying my taste in music. You listing song after song from my ipod in the "what are you listening to" thread is getting a bit creepy.
