Fortifying links your combos as one attack, it's awesome :
One thing I hate about this game is no opened world

 

I wanna see his face too.

 

For example I used the Bear's X attack to fight a flying monster.
Randomly he will fall to the ground,allowing you to use Tempest Storm

 

It's meant to be like that :
And I usually use only flurry attacks - once you link them, the damage is great
Also, you can buy items which increase your CP at shops. This comes in handy :
