love plus is evil:

We've already seen someone marry one of the in-game characters, but hey. Konami's Love Plus tours are now in full swing, and naturally Japanese networks are trying to wrap their heads around the phenomenon.

One such story follows an enthusiastic gentleman on his Stamp Rally. Given a card, e-lovers hike to key locations, where they're rewarded with a stamp and the chance to buy Love Plus merchandise. There's something different - and exclusive - at each stop. The useless trinkets seem to average at about ¥1,000 ($12 AUD). Konami's marketing department is sure to get an extra special Christmas bonus.

The last stop has the option (for another ¥500) of writing a message from the heart to one of the Love Plus girls, then hanging it on a board alongside hundreds of others. No doubt some tried to hang their note in front of others.


'Together with Nene, forever'

At the end of the day, they go back to his hotel room (included as part of the romantic package), where he reveals that Nene - his Love Plus girlfriend - gets the bed, while he chooses to sleep on the floor. However this is the Love Plus iPhone application (a taking clock), so there's a good chance the DS is hiding in his pants.

The piece ends with the reporter asking him "what about a real girlfriend?" to which he confidently replies "I don't need one". Truly a man in love.
