Also note that, when you reach the dragon cave or whatever it's called, you will be asked a few questions eventually.

If you get those questions correct, you'll get a dratini with extremespeed.

 

I never found Extremespeed useful. Maybe because Emerald was too easy for me. It may actually be a use in HG
