It's really simple, mah boi.
U can right away divide people with those who use anime avvies, and those who don't.
What's more, we could add some sort of a symbol to our avatars, which would mean being in a certain faction.

 

The question would be whether you honestly want to go through the effort or not.

I'm willing to bet on "no".
