But Yoshi just dismissed it without even trying it, so comparing it to his DS that he likes is a way for him to see how good it is.

that isn't a reason to dismiss it out of hand.

    I DID try it.
I played ALOT of games on my friends PS2 and no game that he has really grabbed me.
Racing games, shooting games, fighting games, even simulation games (the games I like).

    It only became so because...

-Sony is bigger than any game company

-Cheaper to work with (excluding dreamcast but I don't know how much those special cd's costed)

-The fact is, because it became so popular only a few brave people would make games soley for other consoles...

I reckon mgs twin snakes was a test to see if snake eater would work...if had no chance on a gamecube.

Yoshi, with debatable topics, you do no dismiss what's been thrown...sure it's your opinion that you like nintendo more than sony...but you can't dismiss facts laid out.

As for me, I love nintendo more than sony, funny thing is...my wii, dsi and ds consoles are gathering dust thanks to a few games I LOVE that would never come to wii...and that my laptop would give no justice to their power.

Gran turismo 3 and 4 are some of the best racing games ever and are only on ps2, burnout 3 - the best in the series.
fighting games - soul calibur, tekken, virtua fighter, street fighter, mortal kombat.
shooting games - black, battlefield 2, brothers in arms, call of duty, medal of honour, resident evil 4, socom.

Then you have games such as metal gear solid 2 and 3, god of war, resident evil code veronica, final fantasy x and xii, dragonquest 8, silent hill 2, splinter cell, hitman series. grand theft auto series.
They are just off the top of my head but I could probably name 100 quality games if i looked.

Racing games: He doesn't have Gran Turismo but I ain't gonna buy a PS2 to TRY 2 games.
Fighting games: The only one that I liked was Tekken 5. Nothing special, as I have almost the same game on my PSX.
Shooting games: He has them all and I find all boring.

He has GTA, Final Fantasy X and Splinter cell, all boring. The DS GTA is better then that one.

EDIT: Yeah I have very few games that I like and most are on Nintendo consoles or the computer.

When I was 11 I owned/had owned just about every console and computer that was out(1989) and I had thousands of games. I guess I am just a born gamer.
20 years later I don't own them anymore, I emulate them. And I have hundreds of thousands of games! :)
Why limit yourself to just 1 system or company? your gonna miss out on soooo many good games.

I limit myself to 2 systems (DSi and Wii) because I emulate other systems on them.
I don't care about spending hundrets of euro's on games I don't really like.
Emulating allows you to delete the ROMs. Buying doesn't.

    Here's a list of what I emulate:
    Wii:
    - N64
    - PSX (yeah I use my real PSX as CD player, I don't have two slots for the wires, and if I use SCART my TV pulls off the wall so that doesn't play good)
    - GameCube
    - And many more...

    DSi:
    - SNES
    - NES
    - GBA
    - And planning on MS-DOS, Sega Saturn, and many more...

So I'm limited to two consoles but those two consoles allow me to play games from much more consoles...get it?
When I want to play a game, I emulate it. I don't really care if it runs slow or what, if it runs I'm happy.

And even if I got the PS2, I have absolutely no idea on how to mod it. I'm not gonna spend €40,- for one game, while you can get alot for the same money (€0.30,- a disc).

    Ps2 games are £2 each now where I live, thats about 2.20 euro's :p

What about all the best games, xbox 360 and ps3?
You can't emulate them because they are way more powerful than your systems.
What about the normal xbox games? you can't emulate them. What about about ps2 games?

I was a little brat, but when the n64 came out I became a die hard fanboy.

It wasn't until I was FORCED to try other consoles (as friends had sega's and sony) that I became aware.

I wasn't a born gamer, I just happen to use it to escape from a dull life XD

I got a mod chip for my ps2.

$70AUD and it allowed game backups, and with a bulk 100 dvd pack (almost gone now) I was in heaven ::)

You need to broaden your mind...one day you'll learn, we can't force you.

    .......wtf?

My modchip already was €70,- installed and well and I ain't gonna pay €90,- for a modchip that you first must install yourself and second doesn't do anything else then let you play backups.

DriveKey actually DOES something. Blocks updates from the games and makes Wii + GC games regionfree (though I prefer PAL since then nothing can go wrong :p).

PS2 doesnt have updates, so that is irrelevant. PS2 modchips also disable the region lock.
