I can't, just realized my old computer is screwed, boots up fine. But can't see nothing but a black screen, oh well I don't care about that.
I'll just get my laptop checked out.

well, remember, if its still in warranty, use that. And goodluck, hope its the cd, rather than the laptop itself. games can be downloaded, but laptop parts cost a lot and repairs are also as costly.

I'm gonna go just a tad bit off topic here... Maybe your old PC isn't completely screwed up, it might just take a few minutes to load... I'm only saying this because the PC I use now is relatively ancient by PC standards and it just takes a little while for it to catch up

I think i kinda agree with born, you just have to search for a new cd, lend it from your friend or search via amazon.

Ok so your having a problem running the sims on a pc with vista yep.
first of all the file size is about right, it does fill a bit more space on your hard drive i think the games compressed in the install files on the disc

Unless your sims box has a logo on the top that says vista ready you will have to run it in compatability mode....

    -Insert cd
    -Go to My Computer
-Right click cd drive and click explore
    -Find setup.exe and right click
    -Choose properties
    -Go to the compatability tab
-Tick the box that reads run this program in compatability mode
-Click on the dropdown box and choose either XP or Windows 2000
-Appy and ok and now double click the.exe file

    This should solve it.
