    So awesome.
    So true.
I'm glad I clicked on that link. I was expecting the worst, but was relieved to find those fears we're unfounded.

Christian the lion... I have George Adamson's book. What the video doesn't show is that the two guys wrote to George asking if they could come visit, and George replied that they could if they wished, however no-one had seen Christian for months. When they arrived, he told them that Christian had been sitting on a rock outside his camp every night for the past 3 days.

Yes, the family bond, this 'Love' I know exists... It's not about the family tree type of family, the caring type of family :)

Believe it or not, hugging like that is actually natural behaviour for lions, I've seen it in the wild.

But isn't it most often that that kind of hug or position is a form of attack lions do to each other? Like when two males are fighting for leadership of a pride, they might look like hugging but they might be clawing at each other as well.

those were females in the same pride. I have a video of it too, they weren't fighting.

So is this behavior possibly a form of recognition within the pride, a form of play or as we humans perceive it.... love?

could be, I don't know much about it except seeing it. I asked the ranger but she didn't see it. Having said that, big cats hug humans as a sign of affection, so I would imagine its the same with others of their own species.

Aww, so beautiful. Had to turn off the music and turn on some Voxtrot to listen to instead though. Still, that's crazy. :'(

    that is a male lion?

yes, he was not dominant, hence his lack of mane. He did eventually take over the pride after the previous dominant male, Boy, got shot through the heart in a tragic accident.

so the mane thing is like a crown for lion, does that mean his child will have them.
