In most cases you "need" to kill something in order to live. Say you then reply with, "well we can go vegan". To that I'll just say, "wrong, you're still killing something for sustenance, plants". So basically life IS Important as it sustains everything else in the system. But to think ife is something "special", that it needs to be recognized & respected is all tree hugging hogwash.
Life is special! You get to live in that life once! Once! Perhaps you live again but not with those precious memories, the only reasons in life is to reproduce, advance, survive and enjoy it!
Yes being idealistic like that is good & all, but it won't help you survive out there. Survival of the fittest is still the most prevailant rule in nature, either you kill or be killed.
actually the only goal in life is to survive long enough to reproduce, advancement is already tie with survival since only strong will survive, so no need to mention it. enjoyment didnt exist since it have no contribution to survival of a life.
If it wasn't for the advancements we have now you would have been killed or died anyway; survival of the fittest, you say that's a rule, well it doesn't fit well for you... O RLY?! OH REALLY?! Ever since creatures evolved from single cell organisms they have started to feel enjoyment, humans aren't so special I seriously hate alot of humans...
the problem with advancement is that it is a choice where as in nature, it is by force. to advance, humans must work in science or other technological fields and that is a choice on rather they would want to do it or not as we don't see loony, calvin, cahos or other members being part of a project which would improve humanity. i chose science and technology as my point for the arguement as it is the one thing we can truly see directly rather then having to go in depth of understanding and analysis of other ideas, concepts, etc.... by nature, animals need to choose the fittest or best mate for them as they will be essential for the survival of their race and their community.
A pet is a companion and if I'm correct when you get married you pretty much own your husband or your wife as a companion.
