Just the idea of "owning" another human is inhumane. Slave owners feed and clothe their slaves, but they don't like it. How would you know how pets work? They can't talk. You cannot ask them how they feel being owned by some strange creature who forces them to sit and roll over for their own demented entertainment. Forget that last sentence.
Yeah, for all we know our pets are just looking for an opening to bite our hand or the wagging tail maybe a distraction so we can't tell that they're planning something sinister? ;D
what about when instances where two humans don't know how to communicate with each other, yet one is the master and the other one is the slave. that's a communication barrier and yet slavery exists. humans have more needs then a dog, cat, etc... a dog wants to eat, have a home, get taken cared for, given love, etc.... humans have the same needs, but it goes further then that which it cannot be substituted for. i think someone is trying to buy a human sex slave or at least trying to make one.
Why do you want to own a human? They are noisy... expensive... clingy... etc. Servants is what "slaves" are called now. They are protected by their rights. You can order them anything within the contract both parties arranged. You want them? GO get a contract with someone. This contract is legal and have a law to back it up. Include anything you wish within the contract... then try to make it a go. Having servants is not as enjoyable as you think. Try to think how to maintain them every month... although it is quite enjoyable to be called young master sometimes...
servants and slaves are not the same thing. Servants get paid, have rights, and are only asked to do reasonable things. Slaves are unpaid, have no rights and can be ordered to do anything.
The payment is under contract correct? What you can do is also stated in the contract. This softens the slave word... or don't tell me that you will not feed your slave some food? I recall some slave laws in the past. They have rights too depends on the contract that is bound to them. This can be stated... sex slaves, worker slaves, soldier slaves, royal slaves, etc...
This really justifies that slaves are lower than dogs. Pretty interesting view this slavery thing. As I have heard that Sudra caste (lowest caste) in India is treated like slaves especially by the top caste. I wonder if that is true...
Slave labor, albeit illegal, still exists. Coal mining and cacao extraction are some of the activities that still employ this kind of workforce... sad but true. :-[
Human slavery is pretty bothering thing: 1. They can think for themselves thus the injustice will more or less lead to rebellion equals lots of dead bodies, including myself. 2. Humans are very sensitive beings, go outside and call someone ugly and you'll understand. 3. As it is inhumane, it is pretty dull - What does one man has that gives him the authority to judge the value of a fellow man?. Taking a slave is pretty much the same as signing a death contract. People die for freedom no matter how stupid it may sound.
In Asia there's always the prevalent tradition of "maids" and "servants" which sound legitimate but are really slaves with a paycheck. They get paid for literally less than a (US) dollar per day, and are usually forced to work long hours in subhuman conditions. It's really demeaning. Yet tradition prevails time and time again .
Nobody would have a slave just to treat him nicely. Cats and Dogs are different, people get those to love and care for. And besides, most of those animals can't live in the wild alone for too loing so we are doing them a favor by caring for them.
Humans were made in God's image; therefore, to enslave a human and brutally force him/her to work in poor conditions against their own will their entire life would be dishonorable to Him. Not only that, but it would be dishonorable to everyone else that is human, as we are all the same, more or less. Also, humans are very different from animals. VERY. Humans have a very high level of intelligence, much higher than that of any animal, insect, or etc on the planet. Majority groups constantly try to take advantage of minorities, often times in the form of slavery, and where has that led us? I'll tell you: Violence, death, destruction. It is suicidal (in a sense) for us to enslave our own.
