But many don't, sure the ones already educated/smart arse over the net are fine, buy normal kids that aren't on computer's more than 5 hours a day wouldn't be safe...and that's a large majority.

I think it depends on what they know. If they are not aware of pedobear's minions and fake ads online, then no. But some younger kids are smart enough to decide what is right and wrong. A 12 year old like me will never go around the internet clicking ads like crazy. And I am barely sociable when it comes to Facebook.

I think all ages should, as long as they know what to do.

When I was in first grade, I played neopets and there were ads on like WIN A LAPTOP, PS2, GAMEBOY, TV. If my sister didn't say they're gonna scam the shit outta you, I woulda clicked it all.

If anything, everyone on Facebook should be under 13. I hate trying to guess who's under 13 so I can lure them into my home.

Ever heard of NAMBLA? And no, it's not something South Park just made up, they're an actual Association.

Since we're talking about NAMBLA I can't tell if people are joking or not... Every time a conversation is about something like this it goes horribly wrong...

I'm a firm believer in the idea that the internet should be an untenable bastion of hope and freedom in the midst of all forms of real-world oppression. Thus, lest I incite cognitive dissonance, I say let the kids have their Facebook.

However, while I agree that age does not determine responsibility, age does determine experience which in turn influences maturity, which is the key factor to discussions such as these. It is the duty of parents (or legal guardians, if you will) to ensure that their charge/s are sufficiently mature to experience the internet for all its worth. After all, life sure as hell doesn't pull punches.

For that matter, those that advocate censorship "for the sake of the children" disgust me - it's the complete opposite of utilitarianism. Fulfill your own damn responsibilities to society and to your children. Do your job right and there won't be any problems.

And yes, LK is well-versed in the ways of NAMBLA. Take a look at Blitzen's graphics portfolio; his "LK 4 MOD" campaign sig even says "NAMBLA" in the corner.

...So it isn't a joke? And yes I know that's the logo for Aggregate Industries (I know, even the colour scheme is the same one from--) but seriously?

These days, people download a whole crap load of illegal stuff and people fake their names, ages, e-mails, adresses, frauds, etc. If facebook finds out that your under 13, they will shut you down (delete account) but they are doing a bad job. I know people that are like 8 that use facebook, post pics of them at that age and they were like that for a year now.
