Makes sense. Good thing I have some games downloaded off PSN then.

I have to argee with you even though I didn't have a PSP, but being able to play Grand Theft Auto Liberty Stories on PSP and Chinatown Wars are a big different. PSP could get better games, if people tried re-releasing some good titles from PS1 and PS2...but I don't know how much it could handle. Dino Crisis 2 was once released on PC and Resident Evil was remodeled for the Apple's iDevice and Zenoia which is on Apple's iDevice, PSP and Nintendo shows that it wouldn't be hard in the sense of script to release some old games on PSP.
The only problem you could run into is Copyright. Games like
Vagrant Story[PS1], Chrono Cross [PS1], Front Mission 3[PS1]
    LaPucelle Tactics[PS2], Final Fantasy X [PS2], Shining Force EXA [PS2], Drakengard 1 or 2 [PS2]
Dragon Quest Monsters - Caravan Heart with English patch [GBA], Final Fantasy Tactics Advance [GBA].
    Shining Soul II [GBA]
Metal Max Returns with English Patch by Aeon Genesis, Header Removed & options [Snes]

PSP is able to emulate PS1 games if it was able to Emulate PS2 that would be great.

The only and only reason that I felt let down the PSP was not two analog sticks.

The PSP didn't even have ONE analog stick, it had that crappy analog "nub" that gets jittery after a few months.

Regarding about what other people said in this thread, I agree that even if there won't be any new good games (outside of those that are confirmed already), the homebrew scene is big enough to satiate a PSP owner with tons of ways to prolong the lifespan of this "failed" handheld.

Personally, I don't have a lot of decent PSP games, but I do have tons of emulators that can be run in the PSP (GBA, SNES, N64, Mame, Genesis etc), that alone can satisfy me.

The fact that you are able to have access to the entire PSX library, as well as a plethora of emulators should be the sole reasons for keeping it until the Vita comes out and replaces it.
