Frick, ninja'd. Yeah, I confirm it works for DSTT/TTDS with firmware 1.17a12 I've only gotten to name my character and save, but it loads, I've loaded it twice now and saving functions normally. I'll report back later on random encounters but from what I've heard there are people who are four hours in and getting RE so I'm hopeful. I don't know if it'll work for anyone else as I only have DSTT, but best of luck to you all.

 

It works perfectly on R4. ;D

 

Search for the YSmenu guide, install that onto your R4, then update using these files. If you have specific questions then go ahead and ask.

One question, which I'll probably share with other Mac users. Is anyone able to upload the already patched version of SMT:ST on some site?
The patch file itself is an executable which doesn't work on Mac.

 

Well I havent had to patch anything myself since the japanese hg/ss, so anyone wanna walk me through it because i forgot. Im using a regular r4/ysmenu. is it something as easy as drag and drop or is it more complicated?

okay so download the patch
download a clean version of SMT SJ
run patch
browse and find clean rom
press patch
And there it works!

FIY size and name don't change post patch

 

wait, I don't get it...it looks like its saying the YSMenu update fixes all those games, why is there also links to seperate patches for the games themselves? I updated the YSMenu on my R4 now, do I still need the specific patch for SMT SJ?

in any case, awesome job to the people who are doing this, I will keep my R4 as long as possible now.

when i download the patch it saves as an adobe reader file and the SJ rom doesn't appear when i try to use open with.

I can confirm it is finally SAVEING on dstt latest firmware...thx to the patch from the hardworking people
