Well, it is. There are no random encounters, since there's technically no World Map, although you can engage in battles (of varying difficulty) not related to the main storyline.

SRPG's rarely have battles you can't engage in.

I love the Skill Crack system and the shared special ability pool for the humans. It really lets you go all out and customize your main characters. My only gripe is that we can't get Race skills, which makes sense, but I still wanted Boobzu to Demon Speed and Heal people for me.

    I love this game..
Best srpg i've ever played, just under disgaea atm. (im not that far in)

Loving the story and the skill crack / shared skill system.

Also i love it that you can get a new demon nearly every level.

You are correct and it looks amazing https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=11564.0
Edit: Square has not confirmed that this is a sequel, some evidence suggests that it may be.

No, that's Blood of Bahamut. It has practically nothing to do with Bahamut Lagoon, more related to when Children of Mana meets Shadow of Colossus...

Any evidence for your opinion. Square have not denied or confirmed that this is connected to Bahamut Lagoon. Motomu Toriyama is the project director for both games, but I won't let myself jump to any conclusions until Square announce more news.

Skill Cracking; each team leader can attempt to learn the skill of an enemy, to do this the leader 'tags' the enemy who has the skill they wish to learn. The leader and his team then have to kill that monster in order to learn the skill. If any other team kills that monster then the team leader who 'tagged' the monster cannot learn it.

Basically, every team leader is a Blue Mage and instead of getting hit with it to learn it, you have to beat the everliving snot out of your target.

Protip: Everyone should skill crack Ice Dance when it first pops up. So, no matter who kills him, you learn it.

I wonder how long it will take to beat this game.

If you play through just the events it wouldn't be too awful long. What would make it long would be the story sequences and battles which you wouldn't be very leveled for, but if you do everything I can see it taking a good while. At 8 hours and just starting day 2 (I take it slow and play a lot of free battles)

Free Battles are fun, you can skill crack them, and you'll see demons before the story battles so, you can get them into auction.

Protip: The first three enemies you kill go into Auction.

im up to wendigo so all i can do is crack bufu. so only the humans have to finish off the enemy, right? leader includes other humans besides the main character right? when i read about what skillcrack does in game i thought that only the main character can kill the monster.

Nah, whoever sets the crack should kill the thing he set for the crack.

Also, you should be able to crack Ice Dance. If it's grey, it just means it's a skill that you've never seen before.

Wendigo has ice dance, if it is greyed out it just means that that character is not able to use it yet(level up a bit), worth cracking. Also don't forget that if one of your monsters gets killed you can summon another one if you have left a few behind when you set up your teams, it's good to keep a healer or two and a couple of high hit point monsters as backup troops.

    tyvm for the tips.

is there a trick to the auctions? or is the final bids just a random picked number by the other people?

    1prinnydood Guest

No idea about how the other people pick their final bid. If I am after a good monster(4 or 5 star) I usualy just do a buy out rather than risk loosing it.

Well, Ice Dance certainly -would- be worth cracking, but I wanted to be unique, so I cracked bufu and Anti-Ice in the fight against Wendigo. I guess I like to be the strategist and come up with my own ideas. Regardless, hopefully there'll be another chance for me to crack ice dance in the near future. If not, there's always better skills.

Somehow I missed the part or wasn't paying attention about cracking skills?

When do you begin to crack skills? And when must you crack the skill by?
