Yeah... School sucks... When will I be using angles and surds in the future! And RE! I hate RE! Why is Islam important to my future!? It isn't. I'm not islamic, nobody in school is and it's not a religious school... so therefore I am having a worthless education in that subject! Grades mean so much but the information is worth so little... I already know my I.C.T skills but I'm only getting B's and C's on my coursework... We have options at our school but still have to have crappy lessons as well! I don't need or want to know the density of a radium atom
lets not forget that they take lower ranking jobs as well than what they were trained for. Teachers become nannies, doctors become nurses and etc XD
In year 3 i learned tessellations "how helpful". Now in yr8 were back to learning it again how to flip a shape rotate it and slide it..."wow".
What is tessellations? Man, and your schedule is very tiring. I have classes starting at 8.20 and finishing at 13.20, five hours a day, each class during 1.30 hours, and some during 45 minutes. Three days a week I have another 1.30 hours of classes, usually useless, like Dance. Who the f*ck cares for dancing? But no, we're obliged to have it. And technological education. It's nothing related to technology, in this class you learn how to sew, how to completely paint extremely irregular shapes like wrapped paper, and things like what are clothes made of. It's one hour and a half in which I could be playing my PS2 or here boring you. And some other classes, like the so called "Accompanied Studies". You just get to have a teacher and do your homework for that day. Once you're done, you get to listen to music and talk with anyone you can. And another so called "Project Area", we make groups and then study a particular subject, then make a powerpoint slide show about it, with fancy colors, a nice background image and a pleasantly font in the front. And one other one, the also so called "Civic Formation". A teacher keeps talking to you, while you talk to other people, while you listen to some more music. Once his done, we keep talking and listening to music until the class finishes. All those gathered make up 5 hours and 15 minutes a weak spent the worst way I could! 5 hours and 15 minutes! Plus, there are some other other classes, like Geography and History. Why the f*ck would I want to know why did the Egyptians battled Julio Cesar or not? Or why do I want to know why does it rain there, or why does it snow over there? If I was to say the useless classes I have, I would need to make another rant, and I don't feel like it.
I might have spelled it wrong. When you connect shapes together (with no gaps) in a pattern like tiling. We had homework, we had to make colorful sheet of paper when we cut out shapes and glued them on a piece of paper to hang on the wall at school. Also it should be in art but its in maths?
I start at 8:45 (9:00 on Thursdays) and finish at 3:15, which consists of 6 periods usually 55 minutes to an hour long each, one of them being homeroom, where you settle in for about 20 minutes after lunch, and do random stuff with your homeroom teacher. Normally if you have classes like History or Classics etc., they're your optional options that you chose yourself. I don't know why we have english though. I mean it's cool writing stories up and watching movies etc., but they should at least change the name to something else. At least in this year, we're actually doing something in Health, like learning about drugs like marijuana, and alcohol and how it can affect you, also we get little taste tests of illegal drugs too. But something I'm looking forward to is in year 11, 12, and 13, when we do our proper tests, sure, it'll be hard doing them every now and then, but I heard you get the last period off most days, so you can go home at 2:20! Some days you can leave halfday (Year 13 mostly). Awesome! Also, Computer Studies is a option next year (year 11), so hopefully I'll be able to go online there occasionally. ^Isn't that called a net? We did that in maths too.
Well, i'm in a new school though, and the teacers are nicer and easier to listen to, the schedule is so short now... and We're really close to ATC, or Alabang town center, AND There aren't any useless subjects...
Back in Portugal, they're trying to make teachers quit. At least that's how I get it. Imagine that they wanted (thank God it's wantED) to penalize teachers according to the grades of their students. Meaning, if you get to have a simply dumb class, like one of those in your ex school, Kamage, teachers will be doomed.
Whoa. Intense... I Swear kamage if you ever run for president in the Philo's im flyin' over there and votin' for you!
Highly unlikely, unless they change the laws for eligibility to run for president, I'm not allowed, since I'm not a natural born citizen, I'm a natural Born citizen of the US, so running for president of anything is seriously out of the question, since I'm not eligible for anything like that, no matter when.
Man this is so true, i'm a guy that hates schools, but i'll tell you this the teachers at my school, ARE COOL, like they would let you do anything, as long as you do your homework, and listen in class, but really useless classes, there are many, like math for instance, we learn about so many things, and go into detail, but really, you don't need any of that, like what job would need trigenometry, or the pythagerous therom, well maybe there is, but really, how many kids in your class, would actually want a job like that, and in science, where you have to know whats a physical change, or chemical change, WHEN IN LIFE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT, IT CHANGED WHO CARES, and the periodic table, yeah im going to grow up, and learn all the periodic tables, so i can become a scientist, mmhmmmm i doubt people in my school wants to be a scientist. basiclly why can't we just learn stuff that will be useful for us.
Actually, school is quite enjoyable if you know what you're doing -.- it's boring if you don't know what you are doing.....
well true true, but i do know what i'm doing, just i don't find anything intresting, and plus what makes it worst is that my mom compares me to her friends kids, who grew up in a good neighbourhood, and i grew up where there were gangs, n drugs around the corner, and note im chinese, therefore parents think a 70% is like a fail, and thats what i get, so i jsut get pissed off at all of this, and my mom hates it when i play sports, always scared i might hurt myself. DOn't blame her, but like seriously, she doesn't let me play, only if i sneak out, and rarely. so i gotta play at school, and never tell her anything.
I like classics My school is one of the only regular comps in England that teach it ;D My school has 5 periods a day and registration in the morning (it's 8.35am to 3.25pm) I think we have too many useless lessons at school and I don't want lunch so that I could finish earlier because honestly I don't care about my friends at school... I just want to get school over and done with because once I have my qualifications I'm only doing things I want, what I'm really sick of though is for-islam attitude the government is trying to teach us although none of the kids like the idea of ever in their life contemplating to be Islam, the only religion that one person is, is christian (most people's backgrounds are English, possibly all the way back to anglo-saxons...), well anyway... we don't need to learn that or any other things like prejudice and race. We do need English skills but not as much as the government thinks we need, but we need failures in school to do bad jobs as well
Being a guy who graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Computer Science, I can understand SOME points of you guys hating certain classes that are quite trivial and pointless such as Art and History. Unfortunately for some of you guys however, you WILL have to take those classes again as General Education courses when you attend a University. Although some of the classes are quite pointless, many of them are not. English, Math, and Science are the subjects that I consider to be the most important of them all. For English, you need to have decent writing and grammatical skills in order to write a polished resume and cover letter (when you apply for your first job in your career) as well as reading and writing off contracts. Math is very necessary as all of you will be dealing with finances one way or the other (which you can't avoid at all in your lifetime.) Keeping track of expenses, investments (with interest rates) and generating your own financial statement will certainly help you from falling into financial pitfalls that many people get themselves into (i.e. debt.) Also, Math helps you develop problem-solving skills in certain tasks such as fixing your computer and repairing your car (which some of that can come from Science as well too.) Arts-based subjects hardly teach any skill you can apply to your life. History and Geography do teach fundamental facts (in which you should know), but when can you do with it? Art/painting doesn't help at all in your life, because there is nothing crucial that requires you to draw or paint just to make a living (unless you are an artist.) The only Arts-based class (besides English language) that I consider to be a necessity is public-speaking. Every one of us has or had to give a speech in front of everyone at certain point, and it is inevitable that you will have to give a speech or presentation in the future to either your boss, co-workers, clients, or people that you would deal with on everyday basis. School is not necessarily bad, but there are certain things that I consider unnecessary that should be removed from the education curriculum requirements, and instead should be made as an extended option to those that are interested.
I think I'll only actually use:English, Filipino, Math, Science, and possibly Social studies....whin I grow up of course. Actually, it is considered a man is not knowledgeable without knowing the sense of art, and I don't know who came up witht hat, but art was kind of easy >.> It's just interpreting figurative language with pictures
