No you can't flee instantly when there's an ambush.
I say I awalys do flee when there is a ambush because they have alot of turns at the beginning.
But if you do have one of Agan's Quips after you kill Lupus Rex when you press R you don't have to hold it.
You flee when you press it.

Man, this game honestly fell flat it's ass half the time, it's an ok game, but they really screwed up some things.

    Horrible things in the game:

    - You can't skip the damn slow specials
    - You can't skip the all the talking
    - You can only use one item a turn for a character, even if you have 5 little attack circles
    - Because of the dungeons, a lot of the time it's pretty easy to accidently over level
    - The whole game is pretty much a cake walk because of that fact, making the english version harder? I don't think so.

    really annoying things sometimes.

you're being nothing but a jerk. the specials are cool, except agan's. come on, you're playing a fucking RPG the talking is part of gameplay you HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT, most RPGs you can only use a single iten per turn, yeah i agree the part of overleveling but this way the world gets easy to explore, you know you can travel to the other islands whenever you want, also you can visit the caravan again. and there are sidequests.

this of SoD as a Chrono Cross, which means, take a look at the sidequests, maybe they are a bit challenging at all.

    SO ANY OBJECTIONS?

I wouldn't say he's a jerk, those are some pretty valid, decently explained reasons. You don't see that very much on the internet. As for my thoughts, I loved SoD's atmosphere a lot although the story could get cheesy at times. The game would be a perfect 10 if the difficulty balancing was handled a lot better.

For future reference, you can skip events by pressing start.

God knows I probably would've had to kill someone if I had to watch those scenes over again every time I died. =/

I can vouch that the sidequests aren't really all that challenging though. Then again, I might just be overpowered since I didn't know how to run away until someone mentioned how to do it this morning. :p

At the beginning of that battle I instantly kill Morte because I thought I was supposed to.

    Same here.
Especially when you fight Rajiv in Sky Goal.
I died around 10 times and the scene before the fight is pretty long.
Thank god I knew that I could skip scenes.

    I've just realized that,
the camera is fixed when you are in town.

I'm at the final boss, the sidequests wouldn't be challenging for me. Using one item a turn wouldn't be so bad, but you have the battle point things, i can only use 1 item even if i have 5 battle points left to use, it's doesn't make sense. I'm not being a jerk just because i'm not praising the game to high heavens anymore once i realized how broken it actually was.

I;m also annoyed at the final boss that has the instant death attack fortuna, every other attack is as weak as all heck, yet when it's almost dead, surprise it spams the instant death attack, so yeah, pardon me if i don't love this game like you apparently do.

Also, the talking wouldn't be so bad, if i could skip the actual voice acting talking which the final boss seems to stay on a sentence for 10 seconds. No clue why you're even talking about the other islands or the caravan, i didn't mention them or sidequests at all.

Reider, I think he was meaning being able to skip each text without waiting for the audio to finish. I'm currently just after the Azure guy. Anyone find him tedious as hell to fight?
