Maybe for some of the smaller files you could store them online. Some of the best choces are: adrive(50 GB free!), file banker (500 GB if you twitter or blog how you will go green<for more info,go to smashing Apps>), or Microsoft Skydrive(30 GB). The problem with external HDDs are that if you are in the middle of something and it comes undone, you will either screw up your data, or lose out on a shinning moment in a game(trust me). And if you plug in the wrong cord the the drive like I did, you will have to pay 30 bucks to repair the drive(voiding your warrenty) or 700 dollars for data recovery (ouch!) And although CDs are cheap , dvds are not. One other option is pen drives (usb drives) which, although they are small, they can help out alot.I hope this helps!

I would have to agree with meganova, get a new hard drive. Storing files on a site is risky business. Another option would to be to take smaller files and burn them to a disk so you'll have them forever, just keep them in a safe place. Thats what I do and you can always put in the cd and move them files over when you need to.

buy a external drive, you can get USB memory sticks upto 64Gb which is quite good for a little thing

USB hard disks are better than flash drives, they're cheaper, higher capacity and last longer.
