After looking around a few google searches, it seems that other people have been suffering from the same issue, i'm going to try to look bit further for a fix, but it might help to take of pops and reinstall it, which may give you access to the versions screen again. Another option would be to simply download the seperated 2nd disc, and import your save.

I'll do that, and i'll keep looking too. Thanks for your ongoing help :)

when booting the game and hollding R, select 3.71 it seems to work better with most games in my experience.

That's not his problem, he cannot get access to that screen by using the R button at startup, and we are currently trying to determine if it is due to a corrupt installation of his popsloader or (something i read on AD forums) if is actually due to some form of dated eboot which for some reason wont run on newer pops versions. If the former option is not relevant, then send me a PM of the location of the eboots you have tried and i will test them out myself.

Good old process of elimination, we will get there eventually, however if you are getting impatient, try what i said earlier about finding a separated version of disc 2, and just importing your save until we can solve the problem. :)

Heh aye. I'll find the location and PM you with it now. It's definitely not the installation of popsloader thats the problem as i've uninstalled/reinstalled various ways and even the same few ways more than once. I really do appreciate the help :)

also could you try the following step, just an idea. (back u the file first somewhere on your computer)

Go into usb mode and follow the path:
    /seplugins/popsloader

    and delete config.bin

hopefully this will erase any automatic settings, i.e. the auto setting for the version popsloader is trying to use.

Tried it but no change, nice idea though but alas no dice :)

this may also be another simple suggestion, but try going to the xmb ( psp menu) and push select, then switch umd iso mode to m33 driver. Cant imagine that would be the case, but can't hurt to try.

Again no change. Although i didn't know such a menu came with the CFW on the xmb. Learn something new everyday i suppose :)

Update - Made a breakthrough. I reset the game and managed to get it unstuck from disc 2. It's now booted the game and has gotten to the main menu. I'll now exit to the xmb and try holding R to see if it now works correctly.

Update 2 - Game booted fine again yet it would seem no luck with holding R to change the pops version.

so the game is now working? and the only problem as far as you can tell is the lack of version choice?

The disc one portion seems to be ok, i'm a little way off disc 2 as i didn't save it near the switch (silly me) but i'm thinking the problem is the disc 2 part of the eboot. As the game won't even boot from disc 2 whereas it should do. Most games do anyway as they'll say insert disc 1 or you can just continue from where you are. :-\

And yes, still no luck with holding R and changing versions. :)

i should have checked this earlier, and it probably will come back fine, but how full is your /seplugins/popsloader folder? since this is where all the different firmware versions are stored, just wanted to check that you had other firmwares to switch to.

okay, just started up the eboot from the source you got it from, and first attempt brought about a crash on 3.71...

second attempt i was given access to the version list by holding R, and changed to 4.01, now disc 1 is fine, just gotta find a way to test disc 2.

    Lots of posts merges :D

As it turns out, the eboot you were using was in fact corrupt after all, i have just arrived at the same problem of the game hanging at the ps screen (whilst running on 4.01 AND 3.90).

so, all you need to do now is get your hands on the file i linked you to, check it works (obviously) and then import your save using the in game menu

start the game then follow: HOME button>memory options>push X>select import>cycle up and down until you find lunar save file> push x to confirm and import the save.

And fingers crossed the problem should be solved and you will be free to continue.
