the .BAK files are backups of the original, unpatched ROM. The first post of this topic tells you that.

The .BAK is a backup of the original unpatched. If the original unpatched rom doesn't work on your flashcart, then putting it on your flashcart won't work

Hi, just checked and the Pre-Patched HeartGold link is working, as is the Soul Silver one.
Edit: It seems to be either on a bad download server or they sneakily disable links lol.
I'll reupload to MediaFire now and MegaUpload.

Don't shrink and try then.
If no improvements I'd suggest YSMenu.

Try updating to Ysmenu/DSTT 1.17a12, or the 1.24 r4li firmware for the R4.

You may get the message "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable."
Just keep refreshing until it gives you the working screen. This does work as I've done it on many files before

Also, does it run YSMenu ? If so then it should work fine

Depends.

If you don't want to patch the rom yourself then go for the Pre-Patched roms(recommended)
If you wanna patch the rom, you'll have to get the rom and then patch it yourself.

Also note the HG on the 1st pgae is broken, there's a new link on page 7 that works.

i tried it on on dstt regular and it did freeze after im not sure how many events but i went from violet city down the route under it
