Because maybe Rudolph makes more patches?
By the way, some firmwares do need patching.
HG/sS doesn't work on my R4 SDHC without patch.

You can easily patch it yourself. No need to be lazy.

This works in R4 Deluxe with ysmenu.... I'm currently in the third gym without any freezes... I'll keep you updated if there are any crashes... THANKS for your help

I try to apply the patch but I keep getting an error saying it can't find the universal code or something. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not a lazy xD I downloaded the patch, unzip error but then that's why I asked if you would kindly asked me to upload it again ... That's it. Finally, if you do not want too bad I would try another way but is not guaranteed :/ ... Sorry if there are mistakes I use a translator because, I'm french

Redownload the patch. Maybe the download was corrupt.

If you use pre-patched ROMs you are indeed lazy.
