    you're doing something wrong or your card needs to be formatted.

    I'm running the same as you and it works fine.

    I got the patch and it did what it was suppose to do, but what do I put into the flash card? The .nds file I used for the patch or the .bak file after renaming it .nds?

    You put the .NDS file into the flashcart and delete the .bak, you don't need it anymore.

    Finaly! A patch for Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver! No need to buy a new card! I'm downloading the (e) pre-patched version now.

    If I download the pre-patched versions, will it still freeze up and will I have to use those patches because I don't get anything from it.

    Works for TTDS unofficial 1.17a12 just fine :D
    DMA on, Soft Reset off, Cheats off. I was using DSTT menu.
    I walked in and out of the Game Corner 63 times and I didn't freeze; thanks for the help! ;D

    Version 2 of the universal patch works perfectly on my 1st edition R4.

    Yes, it does. You can patch it just in case, it really only takes 5 extra seconds (that's what I did, and the game is working fine)
