    If that's true. Then our national news program on tv is wrong.

    From what I remember, it is true; although the apple lisa wasn't a commercial success.

    Windows 7 is out already?? Wasn't that suppose to be a replacement for Vista? I thought it'd take them a few years...

    I've had W7 since the public beta came out, and I have to say I like it. I LOVE the new taskbar, so much better than it used to be. For those of you who don't know, you can pin an icon to it much like you can to the start menu in XP/Vista, and when you open the program it gets a border around it which makes it look like a button. It also stacks multiple instances on the same button and then you just hover over it to see previews of all the windows on that button, as well as hovering over a preview to turn all other windows transparent so that you can only see the one you're previewing. My favourite change, albeit a small one, is the fact that if you have a file transfer going the button actually has a progress bar overlayed on top of it, which although it isn't a major thing, I thought it was a pretty cool little change.
    It's extremely stable from what I've seen, especially for a beta. I've only had one or two programs crah on me, one was Fallout 3 although that may have been the fault of the lack of legality with it on my part :p, the other is XWindows Dock, which always brings up an error on startup and some features don't work properly. My WiFi adaptor installed with the Vista drivers I have on my hard drive, as did everything else.

    Overall it's an improvement from Vista, which is extremely underated itself. It's never going to install faster than XP, due to it being somewhere near 10 times the amount of data if I remember correctly. It's never going to be quite as fast on a modern PC either, as XP was released way-back-when in 2001. Compare a standard computer from then with XP and a standard computer nowadays with Vista or Seven on it, and the Vista machine will probably be faster, but don't quote me on it.

    Windows 7 looks nice, I'll see how it runs in a month or two.

    Considering how much I hate vista I'm surprised I cbf changing it yet.

    Ermmm... no Windows 7 is not out yet, it's just a beta and windows vista was launched back in 2006 as far as i remember, that's a good 3 years at least. And windows vista was sort of a filler, like windows NT was but it became too wanted, too quick by too many people so it became a full blown product.

    NT wasn't a filler, it was the business OS while 95/98 was the consumer OS.

    welps just two more days for official public release for RC1 to beta users... :)

    Xp = still no.1 desktop in the world.
    Vista = WPA schemes. Admin's rights, expanded ram changes.
    Win7 = clone core of Vista. WinMe3.0

    Looks nice, although I think I'm gonna stay with XP for a while, until I get my suped up new computer, in which case I'll consider Windows 7.
