My subdivision doesn't have Smart Bro....Or Globe, so we ahve to use PLDT, we don't even havy SKY cable man!

Anyways, I'll consider buying a Smart bro connection, then check if I add it to my computer while under the influence of PLDT, if it'll go any faster :)

I don't think that'll work, unless you've got two LAN cards on your PC.

Wait sceatch that, the other Smartbro connection uses the PS/2 port of your system, if you've got one of 'em free that might work, but still PLDT MyDSL uses a physical cable for its connectivity while Smartbro uses cell site technology, how can you integrate the two??

you can't put data through a PS/2 port, its way too slow. It is possible to bond connections, but its quite involved and really not worth doing for a home user.

No I'm not kidding, well actually Smartbro gives its users two options when subscribing to them:

First option, connectivity via LAN, which is pretty obvious (that's my connection by the way), its fast but way expensive, and by fast I only mean 384kbps, sluggish compared to what you guys have.

Second option, a slower connection via PS/2 connection, but its cheaper & slower & you don't have to "rent" the antenna reciever thing-a-ma-bob doohickey

That's just how "late" our technology is here!!

Oh we do have satelite internet here but only Businesses & the uber rich can afford it!!

satellite is hellishly expensive anywhere, and 384kbps is standard WCDMA (UMTS V1.) speed. I used to have that for my backup line until I upgraded my modem to one that supported HSDPA (up to 3.6Mbit)

Which brings me back to what I said to kamage, his cableDSL connection maybe considerably faster since PLDT, the company who hosts the cableDSL connections here in the Philippines offer connection speeds up to 1.5Mbit, but you got to pay more.

That's business speed, only use it when you're holding a computer shop.... I think 1.5 per month?

Anyways, I ahve basic right now, but I'lll try getting Smart Bro DSL for my laptop :p if it doesn't speed up my computer, laptop it is, but my laptop has wireless connection.. Smartbro will come in handy..

Only when my Cellphone has reception :p

    HEHE!

Anyway, I know several richers (south park reference) who have business speed for their home, using it to sponge off, not leech games, music &movies on the internet. Jerks really.
