I was not upset at all! I thought it was funny and knew you were just joking. But japan is as sex crazy as western country I think (especially youth). I was just sharing a story about the otaku I know who likes 2d girls only.

But my boy doesn't like 2d girls more than real. (Tâ–³T) It's a misunderstanding! How do I explain it... maybe wearing cute cloth or costume for us is like wearing sexy revealing cloth for other country? So it's exciting and attractive for boy? When you go to love hotel, you can even rent costumes like school uniform, maid, nurse, so on. orz

some cultures likes their own because its their culture for example filipino people likes batista because he's a part filipino but if they're not filipino then they don't like it.

as regards to culture beliefs and respect it all gets a bit messy.

i like some cultures and respect them especially when it involves traditions and events but i draw the line when culture is used as a weapon/excuse that effects the treatment of other people.

we live in a modern world where we can think for our selves and follow law not religion but culture and beliefs are abused and used as an excuse for people to generally be horrible to others and then when they are attacked for it claim that you have a problem with their culture and claim racial hatred.

i respect most people and beliefs but that respect goes strait out the window when the actions of that person are morally wrong on a universal level and i should not be forced in to respecting them just because its their belief.

if i said i believed in a space monster that within that belief made me kill or hurt anyone that didn't believe in it too, now should i be respected because its my belief?? no i should not, just because something is ones belief does not automatically grant you respect, you have to earn respect in my book and if your actions are not respectful them self then you don't deserve respect just because you believe it especially in a word that beliefs cause more death, wars and hatred then anything else.

also if a person is belittling another (or the feel that that person is, a common misconception from those with the belief/culture) is that persons beliefs on a subject not just as important or does it not count because its their own free thought and not thousands of years of tradition and religion.

Culture has very little to do with belief or tradition. You may believe in Karma or Jesus or Teflon but there is no Karmic/Christian or non-stick culture. Your society may dress up a goat and crown it a king or fire off a few bullets when your leader dies or wait 3 days before disposing of a corspe, and that is a tradition, but it is not culture.

Culture is your society's understanding of today and how to deal with today. Culture does not care for history or religion. Do you think that in todays Iran people feel that their culture is defined by Islam? Is modern American culture based on middle eastern tradition or Christian belief?

Culture is attitudes and ideas expressed today for today. There is no such thing as an old culture or a religious culture. Culture can be influenced by the past and by religion but it cannot be the past or a religion.

Culture is another one of those things people would be better without... Causes too many arguments...

Culture (and civilization) will be a constant in our existence, anyways. It seems most of you have a bone to pick with certain "cultures" or "beliefs", so let's just leave it at that
