Well said. Everyone should think like you.

I am not saying that we should all turn to a life of crime. If a reputation is valuable to an illegal organisation then you can be sure it is just as valuable to a legal one. Tread quietly if you are unsure, make great steps only when you can, and never say no.

and i will say again its not what people say about you since they dont see the real you and most times reps are based on assumtions and acting
its what you know you are

And I will say again. High School and Real World reputations are two completely different things. There are companies that I hate doing business with, because of their reputation for poor or difficult service, or products that have an unusually high fail rate.

Real world reputations are not based on assumptions about you based on your social class like they are in high school. They are based on your work ethic, quality of work, quality of your service or product you sell, how willing you are to help others, etc. That is a real reputation. What you are calling "rep" is really just a social clique.

Meh, reputation doesn't really make a difference to me. It used to though, I used to listen to metal (which I hated beyond belief), wear saggy pants (very unconfortable), and made every third word out of my mouth a swear (which made me feel bad) just so I would fit in with the "cool kids". Since then I've realized that I really don't care what people think of me, as long as I have friends I'm fine.

It doesn't matter how many times you explain it TirithRR, I don't think they will get it.

Yes, reputations are important. How many people will hire you if you had a real-world reputation as a lazy bum? Your highschool rep may not mean nothing, but in the real world, your rep influences your environment. Granted that some of the qualities of your rep may not be true, it still affects you. Just ask someone accused of rape or pedophilia. Just an accusation, an assumption, influences your world. Your reputation isn't entirely based on you or your actions, and thus, it does not necessarily have to be the real you. It serves more as a representation of you. It gives something for people to base their opinions off of before they meet you.

And of course, I am not as good as explaining things as those before me. So if any clarification is needed on my meaning, I'd be happy to, uh, clarify.

correct, their white appearance is a reflection of the ice. Which is where they're brilliant white in their natural environment, but look a dirty colour in a zoo.
