I'm convinced now after spending a good day in Manhattan that I am infact a fan of both genres. Down in Penn Station, just as I was getting off my train to head to the exit beside Madison Square Garden, I saw something epic: On one side, a group of fellas got together with their drum and guitars and acoustic bass( Since Basses don't have a very good portable amp I think ), and they jammed out all different songs and melodies that had everyone walking by tapping their feet and throwing change. Those same pedestrians also stopped 50 feet away at another music venue. This time it was someone and just his friend with a smaller drum set. The friend was kicking out a rhythm that was like old skool reborn, and the rapper was spitting out poetry that made everyone there tap their feet and think about the words. It made me enjoy both styles very equally. Would've loved to see them jam together for a while, but no luck.
i like all kinds of music except rap to me every rap song i hear sounds just like the last one, eminem has some funny lyrics and is entertaining but the rest dont even register
I dislike rap(lonely island being a very rare exception to this) and while I don't typically enjoy rock(unless you lump metal in there, then I <3 it) that much, I like more stuff in that area than I do in the other one. So, rock for me.
i like both but definitely like rock much more. but like dementiumboy13 said rap with a rock feeling is pretty damn cool or vice a versa, rage against the machine is a good example
